I thought I’d start with sharing more details about what I have planned for the Grigg Guide. I’m not really sure if anyone is interested in my perspective on life but I decided I really wanted to document things for myself and perhaps they will be helpful to someone else and that’s how the idea to create the Grigg Guide came about.
Wedding: I just recently got married on June 25, 2016 and it was truly the best day of my life. My husband and I got married on our 10 and 1/2 year anniversary – we’ve been dating since we were 15 & 17 – so we knew we had to throw the party of a lifetime. We got engaged on March 20, 2015 giving us a little over a year to plan. I was the first of my close friends to get married making wedding planning a completely uncharted territory. Well that’s not entirely true – my cousin who happens to be one of my best friends got married about 5 years ago – but that doesn’t exactly count 😉 Luckily I had immense support from my friends and family – I constantly bounced ideas off of them and somehow was able to plan the whole thing on my own (although my husband was involved in everything, can’t deny that!) I really wanted to share all of my wedding planning experiences and I will do so step-by-step starting waaaaaaay back to when you know the proposal is coming sometime in the future and you need to start sending ring hints to your boo all the way through planning a honeymoon. I really wish I had some sort of guide – and I don’t mean a wedding planning book or even a wedding planner – but a “what to expect when you’re expecting” type of guide that tells you like it is. I thought I knew what wedding planning would be like – I’ve watched a million episodes of “say yes to the dress” – the dress is the most important part, right?!? Anyways… I will share anything and everything that has to do with weddings!
Mom-in-the-making: My husband and I want to start a family immediately – I want to document that journey and share what I’m going through and what I will go through – perhaps it can help someone out there! And eventually when we do have a little one I’m sure I will research the heck out of everything that has to do with babies – cribs, strollers, clothes, diapers, toys, etc. – let me save you some trouble.
Food: WHO DOESN’T LOVE FOOD?!? I love baking and half the time I don’t even like what I’m baking, I’m pretty sure I’m one of the pickiest eaters on the planet but that doesn’t stop me from wanting to bake and cook! Who doesn’t like to discover new recipes?!
Fitness: I played soccer competitively until I was 19 – living that lifestyle doesn’t just stop because I went off to college. I love working out and I’ve tried everything in the book so sometimes I think I have some useful insight with regards to fitness. I’m like a girly tom boy – is that even a thing? Anyways, I once had a fitness instagram and found following other people’s journeys really inspiring but sometimes really disheartening so I think I’ll occasionally share info about my fitness journey – I hope to be in the “inspiring” category for you all.
Fashion: I would not consider myself a fashionista – don’t get me wrong, I love clothes and shopping, but I’m not one of those girls that puts together a perfect outfit every time. In fact, I mostly live in lululemon. But on the off chance I do have something I find interesting to share about fashion I will.
Stationary: Planners, pens, pencils, anything that makes work prettier and more enjoyable is a must in my book. I’ll share my faves!
Home: This one is more opened ended and will probably pick up a little while in the future – eventually when we own our own home we will definitely be doing renovations. There will be lots to share on this front, but most likely not for a little while.
